The goal was to create a package that would make the tedious task of skewing the meat for barbequing easier. I proceeded with the research of the Jordanian buying habits, discovering that usually meat for barbequing is typically bought and used on the same day. Also learning that current styrofoam trays typically hold 0.5kg.
I chose molded pulp paper as the material of which the meat tray will be made, as it is sustainable, clean, and can be easily wrapped to preserve the meat for the longest possible time. The paper tray could possibly also be used as a fire starter to aid the coal.
For prototyping the tray I created a 3d model and printed it with space for 3 pieces as a proof of concept.
Step 1 | The butcher would place each piece in the tray [0.5kg].
Step 2 | Insert the skewer through the star perforation.
Step 3 | Pull out the skewer from the package and start barbequing.
I used the brand logo of The Meat Master, a high-end quality butcher in Amman, Jordan. I then created the visuals of the package and a special pricing sticker to hold the brand identity of the Company.
